I ♥ Vegetarians, Part 2

Since I pissed of so many vegetarians a few weeks ago, I thought I would offer this video as an apology. I will be going to dinner tonight at a Thai restaurant and ordering vegetarian spring rolls.

Happy eating everyone!

love,

Fuck being vegetarian. I need meat.

There are essential proteins that you can't get from vegetables. Sure, we have vitamins and supplements to get around that issue...but if you had to survive in the wild (or even in a second- or third-world country), just eating veggies won't cut it.

Too much of anything is a bad thing...vegetables included. ;)

The only thing that makes me mad about meat eaters are people like that guy ^ up there. People who have no idea what they're talking about when it comes to a vegetarian diet. I was a vegetarian for years, & then not, & now I am again. And people always think you have a sense of moral supperioity because you dont eat meat. Well, that's just not the case. I don't eat meat to benefit my health. Not so I can look down on people who do. I don't give a fuck what you eat, but if you're gonna bash something, at least do a little reasearch on the subject.

I should make two points clear:
1) I'm female, and
2) I didn't want to clog up the comments with my intimate understanding of vegetarianism. There are lots of reasons for choosing not to eat meat. Some can't digest it, some have a moral objection, and some people think it's healthier. That's just to name a few...

Seeing as I know the biological processes in your body and what your body needs to function, I can safely say that yes, there are plenty of vegetarian sources for necessary things like calcium and protein. What I take issue with are people who jump on the vegetarian bandwagon and don't take the time to balance their diets. They assume it's healthy, but don't look into the nutrition factor to ensure they're giving their bodies what they need.

Animals are put on this earth to be eaten by people. There is a reason they are not as intelligent as we are, we are at the top of the food chain. Vegetarians are dumbasses.

heheheheheh! Awesome!

I'm a veghead for medical reasons, but people just need to leave everyone to sort what they choose to eat, or not eat, as they see fit.

Within reason. Meat-eating is ok. I'm opposed to cannibalism. :)

What I take issue with are meat eaters who assume that vegetarians think they're superior to them & therefore are rude about it. Like that person who said "vegetarians are dumbasses". That's ignorant & rude. I, as a vegetarian, don't go around saying meat eaters are dumbasses. I don't try to convert people or tell them as their putting a piece of chicken in their mouth that that chicken was abused & full of hormones. So I'm tired of everyone bashing vegetarians! I'm a vegetarian for my own reasons. I have a difficult time digesting it & I'd prefer to not get ass cancer. And for people who say you don't get the right amounts of nutrients from a vegetarian diet, I feel, haven't done any research on the subject & probably have never tried it. My husband is 6'5" 250, healthy as ever & he's been a vegetarian for 5 years.

And I'm sorry, I shouldn't have assumed you were male.

That's a dumb commercial.

I think a lot of vegetarians tend to wear their choice as a badge, and it pisses me off when people do that with any of their personal beliefs.

If you're a vegetarian, and you're in a situation where that won't work, don't make a big deal of it.

Bottom line: eat what you like and STFU about it.

I don't understand what the big deal was with your post. I am a vegetarian/transitioning vegan, and you did not offend me at all. Everyone has their own opinions and dining preferences. I do understand that some have given all a bad name. Most veggies will look at menus ahead of time to see if there is an option for them. So the ones you are dealing with are the ones who have not done their homework, and expect you to cater to them because of that.

You have an opinion and are allowed to express it on your own blog.
